Busy as a bee.....

Hello blog friends!!! I know......its been too long since my last post.  I have been very, very busy with my real-life house renovation.  My husband and I decided to update our outdated kitchen and also install hardwood floors throughout the main level of our house.  This is a big job but one I am very excited about.  I will return to blogland in the Fall with new images of the cafe shop, a fantastic "give away" and many pics of pretty mini items like this Gardenia spa basket.  I made this basket and filled it with handmade bottles of gel, a white towel and a tiny packet of bath beads.

Enjoy the rest of the Summer everyone!!!! :-)

Until next time.........

Finally, some "me" time

Hello blog friends!!!!  It's been awhile since my last post.  I've been very busy lately with my kids' end of the school year activities trips, school dances, open houses, after-school activities, etc.  I also have two upcoming graduation celebrations!!!! WOW, I can't believe the school year is almost over.  The days go by sooooooo fast!

I managed to squeeze in some "me time", so I made this pretty Rosewater spa basket.  This basket is on its way to my dear friend Lesley.  Lesley is a very talented miniaturist and a wonderful person.  I made this basket for Lesley to show my appreciation for the support and encouragement she gives me.  I really enjoy our talks.  Thanks Lesley!!! I hope you like the gift. :-)

You can check out Lesley's beautiful cakes and pastries on her website

Until next time..........

CAFE: Slow But Steady Progress

Cafe in progress
I planned to have a bit more accomplished on the Cafe by now......but I experienced a few LIFE distractions - Spring break with four school age boys at home, Baptism and Easter celebrations/dinners, doctor appointments is beautiful!  But I seem to need more hours in a day to get more accomplished. :-) !!!

The Cafe is primed and I made some alterations to the windows.  I plan to add grilles or muntin bars to the windows next.  I purchased the wood for the muntin bars from my local craft store.  I am currently working on the base to the cafe and planning the electrical work.

Paint Chips
I went to my local hardware store to pick out the exterior color for the cafe and awning.  As you can see, I took home several paint chips.  I finally decided on a very pretty pink named "fairytale pink" for the cafe exterior.  The awning will be a pretty "chestnut" brown.

So much more to do, so until next time.........

Rosewater mini products

Like so many of my crafting friends, I have several projects "in progress" at the same time. :-)  I have been creating and collecting several pieces for my new Crabtree & Evelyn boutiques.  Yes.....more than one boutique!  Each boutique will display a fragrance I like........rosewater, wisteria, and lavender.  Here, I gathered a display of some items I made for my mini rosewater boutique.  I like the garden theme......wicker, potting table, flowers in garden pots etc.  More to come later.......

Now, I'm off to update the pics next week!

The Etagere

Evelyn Rose Etagere

Crabtree & Evelyn's Evelyn Rose products are so wonderful.  I decided to fill a mini etagere with them.  I used handmade wood boxes to make the mini 1:12inch scale spa baskets.  Each basket was painted a soft rose color then lined with delicate tissue paper and adorned with ribbon.  I filled the baskets with bottles of lotion, gel, presentation boxes, and sachet bags I made myself.  Bath salts and a tiny towel complete the display.  I like the end result.....I hope you do too.  The Evelyn Rose Etagere is a private collection item.

Pastries for LR Patisserie and Cafe

Sweet Temptations
This dessert counter is one of three dessert counters that will be displayed in the cafe.

The very talented Lesley from the English Kitchen made the beautiful filled pastry boxes on the counter top and the amazing cake on the glass pedestal stand.  She also made some delightful pastries that appear inside the glass counter.

The beautiful work of Emma from Paris Miniatures is also displayed inside the counter.  Emma's pastry combinations presented on doilies are so unique and beautiful.  Rows and rows of her pastries are simply irresistible.

Amazing work by two amazing women!!!!
Check out Lesley's website  and Emma's blog to see more of their stunning work.

Until next time........

Welcome to my new blog!!!!

The Inspiration

Source: Anne. "Peggy Porschen's Parlour." Photo. 15 Jan.2011. 21 Mar.2012.

Peggy Porschen's cake parlour is so pretty......don't you think?  This parlour is the inspiration for my new miniature project, the "LR Patisserie and Cafe". I plan to model my miniature shop after this gorgeous shop.  I will share the progress of making LR Patisserie and Cafe here, on my new blog.  I hope you will follow the cafe's progress.  Also, I will share my private miniature collections and other fun stuff along the way.  Please visit Peggy's website for more inspiration.  I am very excited, so let's get started...........

The Shop Design

I purchased this miniature shop from ebay.  I really like the design and the kit is super easy to assemble.  I think this shop will work nicely.  I will have to make some adjustments though.  The next step.........making alterations to the basic design.

Some Sweets for the Cafe
........Before I go, please enjoy a peek at some goodies that will be displayed in the cafe.  Do you recognize any artist's work?

The very talented Eve from Afterdark Miniatures made the beautiful pink candy hutch.  The pretty chair and table set are made by master craftsman Jason of JGetzan Miniatures.  The divine desserts on the tables are made by the very talented Emma, from Paris Miniatures.

Until next time........
